Rob Krabbe (longer bio)

Rob Krabbe was born in Saint Charles Il. June 6th, 1961 and lived in Illinois with his family until 1970 when his dad moved them to California, by way of Marietta Georgia (2 months). Just in time for the 1971 quake, they called a “rolling wave.” It was a nice taste of California and after some thought of the welcome to the west they had received they decided to stay anyway, considering that the quake had hit so another may not be due for a while.
That, of course was faulty logic, although not proved for a few years anyway.

Rob graduated from Simi High School in 1979, and married his high school sweetheart, Melissa Marzano, in 1981, and she has remained Krabbe every since. She of course received a large quantity of counsel against the marriage but had a predisposition for self-detrimental behavior. They stayed in California except for a brief move to Jacksonville Florida between 1982 and 1984, an adventure they engaged on a whim or God’s leading. When asked why, Rob was quoted as saying "I always wanted to move to Jacksonville Florida for a year and a half, and then move back again."

Rob and Melissa led worship at the Simi Valley Presbyterian Church from 1984 until 2004, during which time they enjoyed great company of friends and family, and began their family with three children, two girls and then a boy. In 1984 they moved to Seneca South Carolina, again God’s idea, or foolish impulse, which at times is hard to differentiate.

Rob has continued to write songs, books, short stories, poetry and the like, and also lead worship although now for a small Presbyterian Church in Seneca, South Carolina. Meanwhile, the children finished growing up and began to have children of their own, making Rob and Melissa grandparents in 2011.

Melissa is now in her third year of seminary and soon will be ordained as a minister of the word and sacrament, a Presbyterian fancy phrase for "pastor."

Life changes and yet not.

Rob and Melissa continue to try to discern God’s voice from foolishness which has not become a perfect science in all these years but ultimately more and more fun as they progressed through life together. Rob’s parents and many friends have ended up in South Carolina, and so these small band of Californians have done their best to seed South Carolina with “city folk,” while trying to understand the “southern way of life,” most of which can be summed up in slowing down a “might” and not trying to understand it so much as just live it.

Worship Thoughts

.
"The most valuable thing the Psalms do for me is to express the same delight in
God which made David dance."
C.S. Lewis

"Without worship, we go about miserable."
A. W. Tozer

"When I worship, I would rather my heart be without words than my words be without
heart."
Lamar Boschman

"How quickly we forget what it's all about. We can get so strategic that we worship so
our church will grow, not because He is worthy. But we're doing all this because God is
worthy and we want to worship Him."
Tommy Walker

"When we worship together as a community of living Christians, we do not worship
alone, we worship 'with all the company of heaven.'"
Marianne H. Micks

Rob Krabbe—short bio.

Rob Krabbe is a worship leader, musician, composer, and author for the past thirty years. He currently lives with his wife and family in the upstate of South Carolina, having relocated from the Los Angeles area a few years ago.

Rob continues his career now, dodging lightening strikes between Krabbe Kreek and the Krabbe drainage ditch, on the Krabbe Compound, in the middle of a thick forest, sipping sweet tea, and fresh brewed coffee, having just become a grandfather for the first time, with Melissa, his wife of thirty years.

God's voice is sometimes hard to discern, but you almost never near it if you don't listen for it.
