I Am There to Lift You Up
Down tempo song speaks of Jesus coming into our lives. The effects of a walking faith. A word of warning against judgmentalism. It speaks of God loving us and accepting us as we are, and the change that occurs afterwards, and inwards, of a decision to walk with Jesus. A convicting word also for those who would put requirements in place that God Himself has not.

Chorus
I am there to lift you up,
Hold your spirit high,
I am there to free your soul,
As wings that ride the sky,
And I am there, to bless your life,
And be the strength you've found,
And I am there to lift you up,
Not to hold you down.
Verse1
You've been told,
I wait in judgment,
And my wrath is soon at hand,
That I hold,
Your soul in balance,
measure each one just like grains of sand.
And you've been told,
You must conform
To an image you could never realize,
You been told,
If you measure up,
That salvation is the prize.
Verse2
So many years,
I've watched in sadness,
As the truth was dragged and torn,
And everyday, men
die in bitterness,
fast as children can be born.
And Christians
Sometimes are so afraid,
That you hide in holy ground.
Feeling so guilty,
And so all alone,
Passing through without much of a sound.
